Baby Bank
Family Matters brings local families together to support each other. We provide donated, good quality clothes, toys and equipment for babies and pre-schoolers to local families in need.

Run by a group of local people, we collect and organise donated items such as:

clothes for 0-3s

towels

playmats
-
highchairs
-
cots, moses baskets & stairgates

buggies
-
toiletries
-
toys & games

Adult Clothes and Homeware
Family Matters has now expanded to include adult clothing and homeware. Items such as casual and smart clothing for both men and women, kitchen equipment, bedding, curtains, electrical items ( toasters, kettles etc) and very small items of furniture eg. nest of tables, are available to clients who are referred. All our items are donated and we do also have a small amount of new items such as underwear.

We work on a similar referral system to the baby bank - please email us at the address below for details. We are based at the same venue - just a different entrance - we are upstairs, open Tuesdays 1.30-3.30pm.

We are supported by a Volunteer Management team and a team of volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering with clothing and homeware please do email us!
I need some baby or toddler kit
If you are experiencing hardship, you can ask your midwife, health visitor, doctor, or local children’s centre for a Family Matters referral. You can then visit our site in Weymouth to select your items. On Tuesdays we are open from 10am-3pm and you can find us by clicking here to view a map showing our location.

I’m a professional and want to refer a family to Family Matters

I’ve got something to donate
Thank you! You can drop your donation off at our store on the Grandby Industrial Estate. On Mondays we are open from 10-2 for donations only and on Tuesdays from 10am-3pm, preferably for referrals only but happy to have donations then too. You can find us by clicking here to view a map showing our location.
Our items are gifts, not hand-outs, so please only bring us great quality donations that you’ve washed, sorted and labelled. If you’re bringing a cot please check all the bolts are included!
